Is Recruiting Considered HR – Human Resources?

Written on July 25th, 2017 by in Blog

In-House or Corporate Recruiters work in an HR Department and recruiting is often the stepping stone to Human Resource Executive Positions.

Third-Party recruiting is sales and often attracts individuals who wanted to pursue marketing, communication or sales and found themselves in this amazing profession.

You must learn employment laws and often work with HR Professionals, but a Staffing and Recruiting Firm is a sales, not human resource company.

HOW MANY PARTNERS ARE BEST FOR A NEW BUSINESS

Written on July 17th, 2017 by in Blog

Partnerships are great at first when you are splitting expenses and learning a new business, but too often they don’t work out.

Inevitably, one partner works harder or longer than the other.  Or, one partner is producing more sales than another, which often leads to problems. Unless the partner is bringing industry experience and clients, it’s often wise to start your business on your own.

If you do decide to have a partner, you should issue 100 shares of stock in the company.  You each own 49 shares.  If one partner wants to sell, the outstanding two shares go to the remaining partner who now has majority ownership in the company.

SHOULD I IMMEDIATELY QUIT MY JOB?

Written on July 10th, 2017 by in Blog

The answer to this question depends 100% on your current financial situation.  It will take your new Staffing and Recruiting business approximately 5 months before you generate revenue.

If you are working a full-time job, it will take you 2-3 months to set up your business.  After you land your first client, it will take 5 to 7 weeks before you will fill a job (that is the average interview time). Your candidate will hand in a two-week notice and you will be paid in 30 days.

As in any new business, it takes time to get up, running and profitable, but once you gain momentum, this can be an extremely lucrative business.  Keep your job, get started and in less than 6 months, you can QUIT!

ARE YOU WILLING OR CURIOUS ENOUGH TO START?

Written on July 7th, 2017 by in Blog

What if the choice to be curious was all that was required to become smarter, stronger, and more skilled?  What if the willingness to try something new, even if it felt uncomfortable, was all that it took to start progressing towards greatness?  Are you curious enough to try something new to pursue your dreams?  Are you willing to be vulnerable and put your skin in the game to start your own business?  It all boils down to this: Are you willing to start?

The more I look at things this way, the more I believe that the willingness to start is the littlest thing in life that makes the biggest difference.  I talk to so many people who want to start a Staffing and Recruiting Firm but never actually do anything to make it happen.  Year after year they continue to WANT, but never DO!

DON’T PROCRASTINATE

Written on June 19th, 2017 by in Blog

Procrastination is the #1 reason most people do not own their own business.  They are waiting to have everything in place, and as a result never move forward.  It’s wise to keep your full-time job while you’re setting up your new business.  It’s also wise to have six months of your overhead covered before you open your business.  It’s also wise that you identify mentors or coaches to help you avoid major pitfalls.

After that, you just need to make the decision and do it or spend the rest of your life reviewing the could of, should of, or would of that held you back.  If you having a tough time making a decision to start your own business, draw to capital “T’s” on two sheets of paper.  On the top of one “T” write down your current job.  On the top of the second “T” write down owning a Staffing and Recruiting Firm.
